For the first time ever, SIGDOC will be held in Europe: in Coventry, UK. Coventry, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Mercia, with a history of over 1000 years, is situated in the Midlands of England, with easy access to cultural and historic sites such as Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick and Kenilworth Castles, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Symphony Hall. Coventry is 15 minutes by train from Birmingham International Airport, with direct flights to the USA and continental Europe.
The venue for the conference is the Technocentre, Coventry, part of Coventry University’s Technology Park. The Technocentre provides modern and flexible conference facilities which should prove to be ideal for the format of our conference. Currently the planning is for two tracks for the major part of the conference, with plenary sessions for selected major topics, awards and invited speakers. Food and refreshments during the breaks will be provided within part of the conference fee.
All facilities are provided within a single building, so it should not be necessary to face the English weather, should it prove to be inclement (although it is usually pleasant in September).
